Fourth Excursion: Hall an the Gnadenwald. Hall is on the north side of the River Inn, and, being east of Inns bruck, is in the Lower Inn Valley. As we have already seen (Third Excursion) it may be reached from Innsbruck via Ampas^, bythe Elbo^en Road — an old Roman branch of the Brenner — funning over
the Mittelgebirge. This route, though shady and veiy beaut fu!, is longer thau the direct post road which runs thiough the Valley from* Innsbruck. The distance, 6‘/.> miles, is of course Most easily traversed by means of the Brenner Railway, which follows in the main the course of this latter road.
