Among its ebarms, is that of a delightfol view from its wall- terraces of thè two striking heights on the other side of the Main, the Marienberg, witli its noble eitadel, and the Nicol ansherg, with its conspicuous pilgrimagè cliapel and stations. The public hospital of Würtzhurg, called the Julius Hospital, after
its fo under, is a building of vast extent, and of mudi arehitectural beauty. It was originally foimdöd in tbe year 1576, by Julius Echter von Haspel- brunn, the Prince-bishop of that time; and by Mm endowed with immense revenues, which it still retains. Destroyed hy fixe, it was rebuilt hy Petrini, in 1690; and further improved, and the present front added, in 1791.
