. The summit, vari cd with slight hill and dale, is covered with woods, cornfields, and meadows, and as I mentioned before, is inhabited only by Slovenes. A carriage from thè hotel took us down a pleasant avenue of lindens, across the plain to the village of Ebenthal at the foot of the cliffs, and leaving it there, we made our way through woods and past orcharcls and farmsteads, to a little open place at the edge of the cliff, called the Prediger Stuhl, from which there is a very extensive view
