house, stands on the slope of the hill on the western side of the valley, not far from the Kurhaus, from which a broad alley leads up to it. It has a pretty flower- garden, laid out in terraces, command ing a pleasing view of the valley. On one of them stands a very ancient oak. Here the late king used to pass some time every summer, and write verses expressing his love for peace and con tentment and rural life.
